My name is Kelsey Phillips and I will be a senior at Andover High School. Along with serving as Miss Teen Kansas International for the year, I am also the captain of the Andover Cheerleading team and editor-in-chief of the Epic Yearbook Staff. Additionally, this will be my second year as a Link Crew Leader and National Honor Society member. Outside of school, I am a competitive cheerleader for Cheer Fusion and work as an intern for SPLURGE! Magazine. In my free time, I love spending time with my family and friends. With five brothers and sisters, my life is always chaotic but I enjoy every minute of it!
As Miss Teen Kansas International, I will be promoting my platform of Childhood Obesity. With one of every three children in the U.S. considered overweight or obese, it has become a growing epidemic. Not wanting to let something so preventable take any more lives, I chose my platform of childhood obesity.
With my title, I have started a program known as Tummies Learning Control, or TLC. Starting out with a small group of kids, I want to teach them the importance of healthy food and exercise. My goal is to prevent childhood obesity, rebuild self-esteem, and get them on the right track towards a healthy lifestyle.
I look forward to serving as your Miss Teen Kansas International for the year and representing this amazing state at the Miss Teen International Pageant in Chicago this summer.
